Former Stipendiary Magistrate, Coroner, and Warden of the Goldfields of the State of Victoria and the compiler of this History.

Stipendiary Magistrate for the North Gippsland District. 1948 - 1951.
The North Gippsland District then extended from Darnum on the West to the N.S.W. Border, with Courts sitting at Trafalgar, Moe, Erica, Yallourn, Morwell, Mirboo North, Traralgon, Rosedale, Heyfield, Sale, Maffra, Stratford, Bairnsdale, Bruthen, Omeo, Lakes Entrance, Lake Tyers, Orbost, Cann River, and Bendoc.
This photograph was taken by the "Argus" newspaper when he was at Omeo, on 19th July 1950, holding an Inquest in respect of a murder committed at Glen Valley.
He served as a Metropolitan Magistrate in Melbourne from 1952 until 1964 when he was required to join the Magistracy at Melbourne City Court. He served as the Chief Stipendiary Magistrate for the State of Victoria from 1969 until he retired in 1974.
